Application for writers and checkers of the Externally set tasks 2018

The School Curriculum and Standards Authority is seeking applications from qualified people who wish to be considered for appointment as writers and checkers of the externally set task (ESTs) 2018.

About the EST – information for writers and checkers

All students enrolled in a Year 12 General or Foundation course are required to complete an EST for that course. The ESTs are administered in schools during designated weeks in Term 2 under standard test conditions. The EST will take 50 minutes. Each EST is marked by teachers in schools using a marking key provided by the Authority.

The EST is included in the assessment table in the Year 12 General and Foundation syllabuses as a separate assessment type with a weighting of 15% for the pair of units.

Writers of the EST will be required to produce the EST task and marking key.

Checkers of the EST will be required to work the task as a student, then apply the marking key and provide feedback.
