2021 ATAR course examinations - marker application
The School Curriculum and Standards Authority is seeking applications from qualified people interested in marking the ATAR course practical and/or written examinations.
Marking may involve school holidays, Term 4 school days, Saturday and/or Sunday, public holiday or evening work, depending on the course being marked. If teaching in a school during the marking period, permission must be obtained from the principal to undertake the marking role.
Due to Coronavirus (COVID-19), changes to the process of marking the ATAR course examinations may occur in alignment with Government policy and advice from the WA Department of Health to ensure the health and safety of the students, markers and examination employees. Appointed markers will be informed of any changes.
The Authority endeavours to ensure that the anonymity of Chief Markers and markers is maintained.
Markers must declare any conflicts of interest to the Authority, including delivering seminars/lectures or engaging in preparatory examination marking forums involving students.
Any current Department of Education employee may only undertake work which is outside their regular working hours or it may constitute a breach of contract and disciplinary action may occur. Work that is completed or meetings attended during work hours will be paid as teacher relief.
Before completing an application, read the general information below about conditions and responsibilities.
There are changes to the process for marking English – see the details in the information document below.
