Provision of Arabic and Latin courses in Years 11 and 12 in Western Australian schools

New Arabic and Latin courses, borrowed from the New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA), will be accessible to Western Australian students in Year 11 starting from 2026 and Year 12 starting from 2027.

The Western Australian versions of the Arabic and Latin NESA syllabuses will be made available on the School Curriculum and Standards Authority website at https://senior-secondary.scsa.wa.edu.au/syllabus-and-support-materials/languages/interstate-languages.

The current Year 12 Arabic syllabus, based on the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority Arabic course, will continue to be accessible by Western Australian students in 2026.
