Today the Minister for Education and Training announced Ms Pauline White will succeed Professor Patrick Garnett as Chair of the Board of the Authority. Ms White will assume her new role from 18 December 2021.
The Executive team and all staff at the Authority thank Professor Garnett for his leadership and contribution to the work of the Authority since its inception in 2012. We wish him the very best for the future. We welcome Ms White to her new role and look forward to progressing the Board’s strategic plans.

The new Year 7 Sample Teaching and Learning Outlines for both the P-10 sequence and the 7-10 sequence, to support the implementation of Year 7 Languages in 2022, have been uploaded to the website under Teaching Support Materials.
Schools are advised that the School Curriculum and Standards Authority Board has approved moderation activities for Pre-primary to Year 10 for 2022. This will take two forms: Moderation Workshops to develop a comprehensive and shared understanding of the Achievement Standards, and Curriculum and Assessment Seminars to develop a comprehensive and shared understanding of the mandated Principles of Teaching, Learning and Assessment in the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline.
Teachers of ATAR Visual Arts and relevant Heads of Learning are advised that WebEx professional development workshops will be provided in Term 2 2022, to inform teacher practical (production) marking judgements and support improving student performance in the practical (production) assessment task type and the practical (production) examination.
