The syllabus content related to the 2026 externally set tasks (ESTs) will be available from Friday, 26 September 2025.

The EST will be administered in schools during Weeks 4, 5 and 6 of Term 2, 2026. All students enrolled in a Year 12 General or Year 12 Foundation course are required to complete the EST for that course.

The EST is based on Unit 3 syllabus content and the syllabus content, highlighted within the document, will be available from Friday, 26 September 2025 on the course pages of the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority) website at https://senior-secondary.scsa.wa.edu.au/.

All Foundation course ESTs will include the skills of literacy and numeracy in association with the identified 2026 EST Unit 3 content.

The Authority will publish the Externally Set Tasks Handbook 2026 in January 2026.
