The School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority) has reviewed and published an updated Equitable Access to Assessment Policy and Guidelines (the EAA policy) to assist schools in supporting individual students who may need assessment adjustments.
The minor revisions to the EAA policy have been made to improve clarity for schools and parents, chiefly in relation to adjustments available for the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) assessment. The EAA policy now directs users to the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority’s (ACARA’s) NAPLAN national protocols for test administration rather than reproducing these within the Authority’s EAA policy. The EAA policy is available on the Authority website at https://k10outline.scsa.wa.edu.au/home/resources/equitable-access-assessment-policy.
The updates to the EAA policy will have had no impact on the approval of equitable adjustments for the recently completed NAPLAN testing.
