A self-paced professional learning module to support understanding of the mandated principles and practices in the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) is available on the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority) website.

Effective implementation of the EYLF supports high-quality delivery of the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline and the Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines.

Reflective questions are included within the module to support schools in reflecting on their implementation of selected Principles and Practices. These questions may be used by individuals, phase of learning groups or across the whole staff.

Reflective questions are currently available for:

  • Holistic, integrated and interconnected approaches
  • Responsiveness to children.
• Principles:
  • Partnerships
  • Critical reflection and ongoing professional learning
  • Collaborate leadership and teamwork.
