The School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority) is currently offering professional learning opportunities to support schools with the familiarisation of the Western Australian curriculum for Pre-primary to Year 6 Humanities and Social Sciences, Mathematics, Science and Technologies. The Authority is providing teacher relief payments for schools across all systems/sector, up to two teachers for each half-day workshop in each learning area (or a whole day if the teacher is attending both sessions). Participants will receive letters on the day to progress the teacher relief payment. Once the teacher relief invoice has been returned to the Authority, participants will receive a presentation pack that can be used to facilitate professional learning at the school level.

More than 200 educators have already enrolled for the Pre-primary to Year 6 curriculum familiarisation workshops, online and in-person, both this term and next, which provide guidance and support schools in preparing for the implementation of the revised curriculum in 2026. Spaces are still available for metropolitan and regional school locations at https://scsa.wa.edu.au/events/curriculum-familiarisation-2025-pre-primary-to-year-6. More information regarding the online and in-person meetings is available at k10outline - Revised Western Australian Curriculum Familiarisation through an interactive graphic.
