A review of the WACE Procedures File has resulted in a change of its name and format for 2015. The former file will be replaced by the Data Procedures Manual.
A number of changes have been made to the document in order to improve the communication of key information about data transfer between schools and the Authority:

  • The WACE Procedures File has been re-named the Data Procedures Manual to better reflect the document’s purpose.
  • The new manual contains a table of contents allowing quick access to a comprehensive range of procedures.
  • All instructions relating to a specific software package are contained in a single section. For example, Reporting to Parents instructions for extracting course offerings, student registration and demographics, enrolments and achievements can be found in one section of the new manual.
  • Data transfer instructions for other software packages (e.g. Synergetic and SEQTA) have been provided. Where additional information is required about the package, schools have been provided with an appropriate contact for support.
  • A guide to using the Student Information Records System (SIRS) has been included in the manual. This guide provides details on how schools can upload their data files into SIRS.
  • Forms that were previously included in the file have been placed on the Authority’s website under Events and Forms. Generally, if a form is referred to in the manual, a link to the website is provided.

The new Data Procedures Manual can be found at:
For remaining 2014 data uploads, keep using the WACE Procedures File at: this document will be removed from our website on 31 December 2014.
