On the 29 April 2021, the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) will be releasing their draft revised F–10 Australian Curriculum for public consultation. You would be aware that Western Australia ‘adopted and adapted’ the F–10 Australian Curriculum as published in the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline (https://k10outline.scsa.wa.edu.au/).
The School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority) will be conducting regional and metropolitan consultation workshops throughout the month of May, to gather feedback from teachers and other stakeholders on ACARA’s proposed revisions. The feedback is critical to ensure that the views of Western Australian teachers, academics and professional associations are represented in the jurisdictional response that will be submitted to ACARA.
Information about the consultation workshops and registration details have been published on the Authority’s website:
https://k10outline.scsa.wa.edu.au/home/teaching/acara-f10-australian-curriculum-review.
We look forward to your attendance and participation at one of the workshops, to ensure that we can provide the very best feedback to ACARA on their draft revisions to the F–10 Australian Curriculum.
Please note: Whilst ACARA are reviewing the F–10 Australian Curriculum, all Western Australian teachers and schools must continue to teach, assess and report on the Western Australian curriculum as published in the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline.
