Registrations are now open for the Year 6 and Year 7 Moderation Workshops for English, Mathematics, Science and Humanities and Social Sciences.
The learning area workshops are only available for teachers in schools who:
- registered in Terms 1 or 2 to participate in the Year 6 and Year 7 moderation process in 2019 for English, Mathematics, Science or Humanities and Social Sciences and
- have implemented, in late Term 2 or early Term 3, the relevant learning area assessment task for Year 6 or Year 7 developed by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority.
Each workshop will focus on developing a comprehensive and shared understanding of the achievement standards for both Year 6 and Year 7. Participants will gain an understanding of the benefits and use of marking keys as diagnostic tools and in making valid, reliable and consistent judgements on student achievement. The analysis of the standards, along with engagement with the assessment pointers, will support teachers in collecting evidence in order to make judgements for reporting purposes.
