2021 Year 6 and Year 7 Moderation

Registration is now open to participate in the 2021 Year 6 and Year 7 moderation process for English, Health and Physical Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, Mathematics, Science, Technologies (Design and Technologies) and The Arts (Visual Arts).

Learning area assessment task workshops, to unpack the moderation task and the prior teaching and learning, will be conducted in the weeks beginning 8 March 2021 and 15 March 2021. These are available to teachers who have registered to participate in the moderation process and registered teachers are encouraged to nominate to attend the relevant workshop.


2021 Year 4 Languages Moderation

Registration is now open to participate in the Year 4 Languages Moderation in 2021 for Chinese: Second Language, French: Second Language, German: Second Language, Indonesian: Second Language, Italian: Second Language, Japanese: Second Language.

2021 Alternative Curriculum and Reporting Recognition Process

Schools who plan to implement a curriculum that is different to the P-10 Western Australian Curriculum and/or a different method of reporting student achievement, as outlined in the School Curriculum and Standards Authority’s Pre-primary to Year 10: Teaching, Assessing and Reporting Policy (Section 1.2 Recognition of an alternative curriculum), are invited to notify their intention to the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority) to seek recognition. Please note that this is NOT referring to a modified curriculum as outlined in Section 1.1 Modified curriculum.

The link for the Notice of Intention will be available from the beginning of April at https://k10outline.scsa.wa.edu.au/home/teaching/alternative-curriculum-recognition. Please submit the Notice of Intention by 31 May 2021. The link for Submissions will open at the beginning of June and are due by Friday 2 July 2021.

In 2021, the Authority will accept alternative curriculum submissions for the following Pre-primary to Year 10 learning areas:

English

Health and Physical Education

Humanities and Social Sciences

Languages (Years 3, 4, 5 & 6)

Mathematics

Science

Technologies

The Arts
